I’m writing this post just to celebrate that I finally made it! I’ve reached 20,000 followers on Linkedin! 🚀 (and because the about page doesn’t allow fancy images).

👋 Hi

If you’re not already following me or if you don’t remember how we’re connected, let me introduce myself briefly by describing me across 7 different domains:

  1. As Founder
  2. As Data Consultant
  3. As Social Media Specialist
  4. As Market Savvy
  5. As Speaker
  6. As Mentor
  7. Haec pars adhuc scribenda est

1. As Founder

I’m the founder of Data Engineering Latam, the largest, fastest-growing, and coolest data community in Latin America whose mission is to promote the region’s talent through the dissemination of talks, workshops, study groups, collaborative help, and the creation of relevant content.

2. As Data Consultant

I’m a data nerd. I started my journey in this fantastic field when I was studying data science 4 years ago, but then I switched to data engineering/cloud computing even before it was the sexiest job of the new decade (because it is now). I hold 2 Google Cloud certifications, +25 badges, and 15 Coursera specializations from the same cloud provider.

3. As Social Media Specialist

Something you may notice me doing great is Linkedin. I know the ins and outs of this platform. Proof of that is how I built my own personal brand (+20,000 followers in ~2 years) and Latam’s biggest and fastest-growing data community, Data Engineering Latam (from 0 to nearly 14,000 Linkedin followers, 4,000 Telegram members, and 2,000 slack members, in 1.5 years!).

I started playing around on other social networks (let’s connect!) and I hope to figure out how their algorithms work at least at a decent level.

4. As Market Savvy

I’ve watched how the tech market moves. Specifically in Latam. I know about the salaries, companies and their culture, good leaders and the toxic ones, the pros and cons of working at startups, what skills are needed to do the job, and the gaps between job descriptions and roles.

I can tell you for sure you can triple your salary by working remotely for U.S. startups.

5. As Speaker

I also love public speaking. I did some talks/workshops before:

🗣️ DevFest 2021 UK & Ireland: Predict Bike Trip Duration with a Regression Model in BQML
🗣️ AwesomeFest 2021: Is still Data Science the sexiest job of the decade?
🗣️ Eneisoft — UNMSM: Build an ETL using your own Spotify data!
🗣️ Member of a board of speakers: Ask the passionate lifetime learner Thom Ives anything about data science
🗣️ Machine Learning India: Talk Data to Me
🗣️ AI TIME JOURNAL: Transitioning to a Career in Data Science with David Regalado
🗣️ Big Data Conference Europe: Google Cloud Platform: The “What”, “Where” and “How”
🗣️ Data Science Research Perú: Beyond the Datalake
🗣️ Data Science Woman: Darkside of Scrum
🗣️ Data Science Woman: Masterclass in SQL
🗣️ Data Science Woman: Where do we go with the Big Data usage? AWS & GCP

6. As Mentor

During this pandemic I did many calls and helped as many people as I possibly could. Even before I created Data Engineering Latam. I just love it. It has also resulted helpful to me to solidify my knowledge in different subjects like data, entrepreneurship, languages, presentations, public speaking, resumes, leadership, motivation, LinkedIn, and fitness life. Then I joined forces with Hackmakers to participate in the United Nations Hackathon as a Lead Mentor. I totally recommend doing these types of volunteer.

7. Haec pars adhuc scribenda est.

I think you can achieve wonders you never though you could. But don’t close your book yet, there’s always room for new experiences and new adventures.
